Dancing with the Stars Winners

Many people have enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars throughout its six seasons, and many more are looking forward to the seventh. A competition between celebrities learning to dance some traditional dances with wonderful costumes, as well as style and grace.

Each celebrity is attached to a professional dancer, who then teaches him or her a dance throughout the week, to be seen on the next episode. Six seasons of dancing with the Stars has six winners, and each one of them is a bit different.

Season one brought us Kelly Monaco, a well known favorite celebrity from General Hospital. Paired with Alex Mazo, the oldest professional winner in the show's sixth season, they were the beginning of a hit show that continues on today.

Season two brought fan loyalty and was off to a quick popularity count. Those who watch the show understood that they got a chance to see their favorite celebrities being themselves. And for this season's winner, the former member of 98, Drew Lachey pulled it off with professional dancer Cheryl Burke. Drew actually went on to start a spin off of the show, and although not a popular show, did quite a few tours throughout the United States.

Season three brought a bit of a difference, instead of a TV or movie celebrity, they brought in a retired professional football star, Emmitt Smith. Partnered with Cheryl Burke, she and Emmett garnered the win for the season, and the second in a row for Cheryl.

Season four brought us the youngest professional to ever win at a mere 18 years of age, Julian Hough paired with Apollo Anton Ohno also the youngest celebrity. They brought the house down with their spectacular season for win.

Julian Hough, although a touch older, brought in her second consecutive win during season five. Again, a different kind of celebrity, Helio Castroneves, this time a popular race car driver for the Indy series was her partner. Many people thought that Helio was a weaker contestant against runner-up Melanie Brown.

Season six again saw a different celebrity take the top award. A champion figure skater, Kristi Yamaguchi paired up with professional Mark Ballas to not only take the season even with an injured ankle, but to also have the only perfect score for a celebrity contestant within the six seasons.

What will season seven bring us, different types of celebrities from different walks of life and professionals who really know their stuff? This has made six seasons of the show entertaining, breathtaking, and at times very dramatic. Dancing with the Stars has made itself a niche just as American Idol, and yet, without big payouts, contracts, or any other award for their celebrities who put their heart and soul into dancing with professionals.
